About Wild Wonders and Wanders

Hi, I'm Katie! I began my career in education in the public school classroom where I taught for almost a decade. I loved teaching and my students, but as I began having children, I found myself craving more time with my family and seeking out a more balanced lifestyle. In 2022, I stepped out of the classroom and began my online teaching journey while homeschooling my three children and helping to run a nature-based co-op, which completely opened my eyes to the beauty to be found in homeschooling. I enjoy time in nature, gardening, hiking, reading, and traveling with my family; hence the Wild Wonders and Wanders name! 

With over 13 years of experience in both classroom teaching and homeschooling, I bring a deep understanding of how young children learn best. I hold a Master’s degree in Education, Master's Equivalency in Educational Technology, and several other certifications. I have spent the past several years teaching online, creating engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that spark curiosity and confidence. My passion is providing thoughtful, hands-on curriculum and classes that support families' needs and inspire a lifelong love of learning in young children.
